MAILING LIST INFORMATION, Updated 2004
Welcome to the Medical Library Association mailing list for the Assessment and Benchmarking SIG. You may want to keep this message for future reference.
MLA provides this mailing list as a forum for ideas, questions, announcements and concerns specific to the group's interests. For other topics or concerns, MLA provides a wide range Internet resources such as MLANET and the discussion list MEDLIB-L.
This SIG was formed in January 2003 due to the increased interest and requirements for institutional assessment, benchmarking and outcome measures, and to increase related programming at the MLA Annual Meeting. Potential members of this SIG include those responsible for planning and assessment at their libraries, whether it be academic, corporate, or hospital.
The purpose of the Assessment and Benchmarking SIG is to foster learning, cooperation and support among libraries and librarians interested in assessment, benchmarking and outcome measures. We will:
1. Provide a forum for exchange of knowledge about asessment, benchmarking and outcome measures.
2. Promote the exchange of ideas and experiences in implementing assessment, benchmarking and outcome measures.
3. Collaborate with Sections to encourage MLA Annual programming relevant to the interests of this SIG and promote professional development for librarians in this area.
